Rio Alto secures approval for 600 MW solar PV project in Paraiba

The National Electric Energy Agency of Brazil, Aneel, has granted permission to Rio Alto Energias Renovaveis SA for the construction of the new photovoltaic plants in Paraiba, Brazil.

The estimated investment for the installations is approximately BRL2.4 billion (US$429.7 million). With a total production capacity of 600 MW, the solar complex will consist of 12 PV parks, each with an individual generating capacity of 50 MW.

Rio Alto Energia is also developing other PV projects in the state of Paraiba, such as the 50 MW Santa Luzia VII, 50 MW Santa Luzia IX and 50 MW Santa Luzia V.
