The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) of Brazil has started the commercial operation of the 30 MW Phase III of the 312 MW Coremas photovoltaic (PV) complex in Paraiba state.
The Coremas solar complex, consists of up to 280,000 solar panels, is owned by Brazilian company Rio Alto Energy. The completion of the entire solar complex is expected to be concluded by June 2021.
Once operational, the solar complex can generate enough power for the consumption of up to 300,000 homes.
