Brazilian state-controlled oil and gas company Petroleo Brasileiro SA, or commonly known as Petrobras, has launched the sale of stakes in two small hydroelectric power plant projects with a total capacity of 25.4 MW.
Petrobras sells its 20% stakes in Termoeletrica Potiguar SA. Termoeletrica Potiguar holds 70% stakes in Areia Energia SA and Agua Limpa Energia SA, the operators of 14 MW Agua Limpa and the 11.4 MW Areia hydropower projects, respectively, located in Tocantins state of Brazil. The projects have power purchase agreements (PPAs) in place that will expire in 2030 and 2031, respetively.
A process letter with instructions will be forwarded to investors that will be qualified to bid for the sale.
