Cordelio Power has selected KORE Power to build nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) deep-rack solutions for the repowering of its 20 MW/44 MWh McHenry storage project located in Waterbury, Vermont, USA. The delivery of these systems is expected to take place in Q1 of 2024. The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
KORE Power's technology will assist Cordelio’s facility to stabilize the grid during the summer heatwaves and polar cold snaps. Cordelio is an independent power producer based in Toronto and is fully owned by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. The company has a current clean energy development pipeline of over 18 GW of clean energy projects.
The choice of KORE Power by Cordelio Power is part of its efforts to transition to cleaner energy sources and attain sustainable infrastructure. Cordelio's move emphasizes the growing need for higher energy-efficient and sustainable solutions in the energy sector. Through this deal, KORE Power's technology is set to contribute to the efficient running of Cordelio's storage facility and assist in providing uninterrupted energy supply to thousands of households during peak periods.
