Construction begins on 72 MW German hybrid Project

EnBW has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its 72 MW energy park located in the district of Heilbronn in Gundelsheim, Germany.

Gundelsheim Energy Park will produce electricity from both solar and wind sources and will include a battery storage system with a capacity of 2.25 MWh. The solar park, featuring approximately 110,000 solar modules, will have an installed capacity of 60.5 MW, generating enough power for around 23,900 households. Scheduled for commissioning in Q1 of 2025, the project spans 64 ha, with about 55 ha dedicated to solar panels. The remaining areas will include biotope zones, such as a pond and woody structures, and pathways serving as wildlife crossings. Additionally, the site will feature two Enercon E160 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.6 MW, expected to generate around 22 million KWh annually, enough to power approximately 6,600 households. The wind turbines are scheduled for commissioning in Q3 of 2027.
