China General Nuclear European Energy (CGN) has acquired a 75% stake in the 650 MW Markbygden ETT wind project in Sweden from GE Capital and Macquarie's Green Investment Group.
The wind farm will cover some 450 sqm and will use Enercon E-101 3 MW and Enercon E-126 7.5 MW turbines, as well as 179 General Electric's units of its 3.6 MW turbines with 137 meter rotors.
The complex will comprise a series of interconnected wind farms in the Markbygden area west of Piteå, in northern Sweden with a capacity of up to 4 GW.
