Capital Energy has been awarded the environmental approval for the development of two solar photovoltaic (PV) projects with a combined capacity of 205 MW located in Spain.
The two projects are the 130 MW La Vega and 75 MW Cruz solar PV farms that will be constructed in the municipalities of Fuenlabrada and Parla in the Humanes de Madrid. Capital Energy plans to invest up to EUR110 million (US$113.85 million) to develop the projects.
The La Vega solar farm will consist of 226,000 solar panels, enough to generate up to 260,000 MWh of clean energy per year. Meanwhile, Cruz solar farm will be composed of 129,000 which is expected to produce about 150,000 MWh annually.
