Burgenland Energie AG, an Austrian electric provider, has started the construction of the 120 MW hybrid-system solar photovoltaic project located in Nickelsdorf, Burgenland, Austria.
The SonnenPark Nickelsdorf Solar Power Plant will be connected to the existing 44 MW onshore wind farm nearby. The solar plant is designed to generate 164 GWh of renewable energy per year, enough to power 44,000 families for a year. Burgenland Energie will sell the power to the local customers at a dedicated tariff.
The solar plant is expected to be operational by December 2022.
