Windkraft Simonsfeld AG, in partnership with WEB Windenergie AG, has started the installation of 6 wind turbines for the expansion of the Duernkrut II onshore wind project in Lower Austria with a total capacity of 33.9 MW.
The project is currently in the third expansion phase with the first batch of the wind turbines being installed 10 years ago. The installation includes the following 6 turbines: 3 Nordex N 163 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 5.7 MW, in the municipality of Duernkrut by Windkraft Simonsfeld; 2 Vestas V162 turbines with a total output of 11.2 MW in the municipality of Duernkrut; and a 5.6-MW Vestas V150 machine in Goetzendorf.
The expanded wind farm is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2023 and will supply energy to OMV AG.
