Austrian utility Wien Energie has commenced the construction of its 27.6 MW Trumau wind farm project located in the Baden region, state of Lower Austria.
The project consists of eight Vestas V117-3.45 MW wind turbines with 91.5-meter hub heights. Once operational, it can generate up to 51 GWh of energy annually enough to power 14,600 Austrian households. The wind farm will offset 30,000 tons of co2 emissions per year.
The wind farm is estimated to have a total investment of EUR36 million (US$40.97 million).
