BlueFloat Energy, together with Capital Energy, has planned to build a 50 MW offshore wind farm that will be located at the coast of the Port of Granadilla, in Tenerife Island, Spain.
The developers have started the permitting process for the port area from the Tenerife Port Authority and also conducted an environmental impact study for the project. The wind project represents a total investment of over EUR120 million (US$126.22 million) and will feature five 10 MW turbines mounted on the Elisa Technology foundations, a concrete-made gravity-based foundation developed by Esteyco.
The majority of the project's output will be used for self-consumption by the port facilities and its concessionaires.
