Axpo Holding has signed a ten-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) for the output of a 111 MW wind project currently being built in Croatia. The project is owned by a joint investment of Taaleri Energia and ENCRO. Axpo will off-take almost 1.8 TWh of electricity generated by the new wind farm.
The wind project is sited in Zadar County. The construction of the wind farm started in 2022 and commercial operations can be expected in early 2024. The project was financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) alongside Zagrebacka Banka.
The project is Axpo's first contract in Croatia’s market.
