Acciona Energia, a subsidiary of Spanish multinational conglomerate Acciona, plans to build two wind projects in southern Croatia with a combined capacity of 72 MW. The 27 MW Opor and 45 MW Boraja II wind farms will be constructed in the Split-Dalmacia and Sibenik-Knin regions, respectively.
The two wind projects will consist of 16 4.5-MW Nordex turbines that are expected to generate up to 203 GWh of energy. Croatian electricity and gas regulator HROTE will purchase the energy produced from the plant under a 12-year contract for difference (CfD) scheme.
Acciona will invest about EUR100 million (US$102 million) to develop the wind farms that are targeted for operation in 2024.
