EQTEC and its Croatian project development partner Sense ESCO have completed the acquisition of a 1.2 MWe waste-to-energy gasification project in Belisce, eastern Croatia.
The deal was closed through the joint venture company Synergy Projects of EQTEC and Sense ESCO. EQTEC has funded the acquisition with EUR550,000 (US$643,395) loan and a EUR1.65 (US$1.93 million) loan funded by a third party.
The project is currently being repowered with target recommissioning by the end of 2022. Once operational, it can convert up to 8,000 tonnes per year of forestry wood waste into 1.2 MW of power.
