The conditional land purchase agreement has been signed by EQTEC and Scott Bros. The 25 MW waste-to-energy plant project will be constructed on the acquired site in Billingham, UK.
The plant will generate up to 25 MWe for energy and heat production, create job opportunities, as well as contribute to the national growth of sustainable energy solutions. It would be able to convert 200,000 tonnes of non-recycled waste annually into 25MW of electricity and 34MW of heat production.
The total investment in the project is estimated at GBP8.6 million (US$12.03 million).
