Atlas Renewable Energy, through a special purpose company Estepa Solar SpA, has secured environmental approval through the submitted Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to Chile's Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA) for the planned Parque Fotovoltaico Estepa Solar project.
The project involves the development of a 492 MWp (577 MWdc) solar photovoltaic facility in the María Elena commune of the Antofagasta region of Chile. The project will consist of 910,728 solar modules with powers ranging from 300 to 540 W that is collectively connected to a 220kV transmission line.
Atlas Renewable Energy will invest up to US$350 million for the development of the project. The construction is estimated to last 18 months.
