Ampyr Solar Europe (ASE) has acquired the East Yorkshire Solar Farm (EYSF) project from BOOM Power Ltd. The East Yorkshire Solar Farm (EYSF) is a large-scale renewable energy development situated in East Yorkshire, with plans to connect to the substation adjacent to the Drax Power Station. Once operational, it will rank among the UK’s largest approved solar projects, with an installed capacity of more than 530 MWp of clean electricity — sufficient to supply roughly 100,000 homes — thereby contributing to the United Kingdom’s climate commitments and energy transition targets. Recognised as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), the scheme was granted a Development Consent Order (DCO) in May 2025 by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, representing an important step forward for utility-scale solar deployment in the country.
The project is scheduled to link into National Grid’s substation at the Drax Power Station, located near Selby, with grid connection expected from 2029.
