Moray Offshore Windfarm East Ltd (MOWEL) has installed the last of the 100 Vestas V164-9.5 MW turbines for its 950 MW offshore wind farm in the UK.
Since its first turbines came online in June 2021, the wind project has begun generating energy with gradually increasing output as more turbines are installed and commissioned. The wind farm is expected to reach its full capacity of 950 MW and to be in operation before the end of 2021.
Located off the Aberdeenshire coast, Moray East wind farm will generate enough electricity to save 1.4 million tonnes CO₂ equivalent annually.
