Moray Offshore Windfarm (East) Ltd has commenced exporting power to the National Grid, for use by homes and industry across the UK.

The wind farm is still under construction, but the engineering methodology used enables power to be exported before all 100 turbines have been installed. Located in the North Sea, 22 km off the Aberdeenshire coast of Scotland, the farm uses 100 units of the V164-9.5 MW turbine. Once completely operational, it will generate power for average requirements of up to 950,000 UK homes.
