NTR has successfully completed the acquisition of the 86.8 MW Pajuperänkangas wind farm from ABO Wind on behalf of the L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) Fund in Finland.
The fund, established as a collaboration between NTR and asset manager Legal & General Investment Management and based in Luxembourg, focuses on investing in clean energy assets to bolster Europe's efforts in decarbonization. The specific project is situated in the Haapajärvi municipality within Finland's Northern Ostrobothnia province. The wind farm will comprise 14 Vestas V162 turbines, each towering at 250 m, generating sufficient clean energy to power 36,800 Finnish households. Construction of the Pajuperänkangas wind farm commenced in 2022, with completion anticipated in late 2023 or early 2024.
ABO Wind, the original developer, secured project financing from German bank NORD/LB in September 2022. Notably, the project benefits from power purchase agreements with Grundfos, a Danish pump manufacturer, and Norwegian energy company Statkraft.
