Acciona Energía has announced its proposal for a new 330 MW wind project near Ballarat in Victoria, Australia. The initiative, named the Nyaninyuk Wind Farm, aims to install 58 turbines outside the towns of Evansford and Waubra. These towns are already home to one of the earliest wind projects in the state, owned by Acciona as well.

After several years of planning, Acciona is ready to share more details about the Nyaninyuk wind farm. The company plans to submit the project for Environmental Effects Statement referral later this year.

The Nyaninyuk Wind Farm will be located to the west of Mt Beckworth in Western Victoria and is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 210,000 homes annually. This undertaking represents an investment of around AUD700 million (US$458.9 million).

To ensure transparency and community participation, Acciona intends to conduct community information sessions in August. These sessions will be followed by an Environmental Effects Statement (EES) consultation process to engage stakeholders in the project's development. The consultation process is scheduled for next year.
