Elecaustro SA has installed the final of 14 turbine rotors at its 50 MW Minas de Huascachaca wind project, bringing the asset's completion rate to 98%. Currently, 11 wind turbines are being tested and contributing power to the national grid.

The US$90 million wind farm in the canton of Saraguro, province of Loja, Huascachaca, is equipped with 14 units of 3.57 MW wind turbines. Once all machines are operational, they will produce around 130 GWh of electricity annually.

The energy and mining ministry of Ecuador anticipates that the wind park will be fully operational in Q1 of 2023.
