The construction of the 50 MW Minas de Huascachaca onshore wind farm is set to commence with the arrival of the 14 wind turbines in Puerto Bolívar port from China. It will be the largest wind project in Ecuador.
From Puerto Bolívar, the machines will be transferred by land to the San Sebastián de Yuluc parish, in the Saraguro canton (Loja), a desert area located at the foot of the Jubones River, on the border with Azuay.
