Victoria EfW secures AUD48.2mn federal funding

The proposed Maryvale Energy-from-Waste (EfW) plant project in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley has been awarded a federal grant for a total of AUD48.2 million (US$33.49 million). 

The government fund is coursed to the project through the Australian government’s Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI). The project can accommodate up to 325,000 tonnes of residual waste. 

The construction phase is expected to commence before the end of 2022 with target commissioning in late 2025.
