Japanese renewables company Eurus Energy is partnering with Australian advisory firm Energy Estate to develop the AUD2 billion (US$1.44 billion) hydrogen production project in New South Wales, Australia.
The signed deal between the two companies will make Eurus Energy the co-developer of the Hunter Hydrogen Network (H2N). The project involves the production, transportation, and construction of an export hub for low-cost green hydrogen for different intended use such as vehicle fuel, feedstock for mining, and industrial needs.
Other project partners are Aussie utility AGL Energy Ltd, ITM Power plc, energy traders and suppliers Idemitsu and Trafigura, and energy infrastructure business APA Group. The project is targeted for commissioning by 2026.
