Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation announced that Hajang 5 Wind Power Co., Ltd., a group company of Eurus Energy, has commenced construction of the 13.5 MW Hajang 5 Wind Power in Taebaek and Samcheok, Gangwon-do, South Korea.
This is the fifth wind farm developed by the Eurus Energy Group in South Korea. The wind farm is located in the cities of Taebaek and Samcheok, plateau cities in the southern part of Gangwon-do, which offers some of the best wind conditions in the country. In Taebaek, Eurus Energy Group operates the Samsu Wind Power and Gowon Wind Power.
Three 4.5 MW wind turbines manufactured by ENERCON will be installed in a mountainous region at an elevation of 1,080 meters. The plant is scheduled to begin commercial operation in November 2026, and is expected to supply electricity to approximately 13,000 average households in South Korea and reduce CO₂ emissions by around 20,000 tons annually.
