DNV, the independent energy expert and assurance provider, has been awarded a contract by offshore wind developer Ventyr for the Design Certification of the Sørlige Nordsjø II wind turbines and offshore substation located in the southern North Sea, near the maritime border with Denmark.
The development area spans approximately 520 square kilometers and is located 200 km from the Norwegian south-west coast. Norway’s inaugural bottom-fixed offshore wind project, the 1500MW Sørlige Nordsjø II, is set to be developed in the southern North Sea near the Danish maritime border. The contract encompasses certification of both the wind turbines and the offshore substation. As part of the agreement, structural components will undergo verification to confirm adherence to Norwegian regulatory requirements and international standards.
