The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has allocated a new loan to ACWA Power for the development, design, construction and operation of a 200 MW solar photovoltaic power plant and 500 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) located in the Tashkent region in Uzbekistan.
The project's overall cost is projected at USD 546.3 million, with the EBRD intending to contribute up to USD 140 million for its execution. The loan will be extended to ACWA Power Riverside Solar, the subsidiary overseeing the project, following a co-financing model involving other commercial banks (A/B loan). ACWA Power will serve as the project's sponsor.
