ACWA Power has installed the first wind turbine generator (WTG), manufactured by Envision, in a 500 MW Bash wind farm project located in Uzbekistan's Bukhara region. The installation process was carried out by China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC).
The wind park aims to have a total of 79 wind turbine generators (WTG) in operation, generating over 1,650 GWh of electricity annually. This substantial renewable energy production is anticipated to contribute significantly to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by an impressive 750 tonnes per year.
ACWA Power has secured a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan. This agreement establishes a solid foundation for the Bash wind farm project's long-term sustainability and viability as it progresses toward completion in Q1 of 2025.
Envision Energy has announced that it has been selected as the turbine supplier for the Bash & Dzhankeldy wind projects in Uzbekistan, which have a combined capacity of 1 GW.
