Envision Energy has announced that it has been selected as the turbine supplier for the Bash & Dzhankeldy wind projects in Uzbekistan, which have a combined capacity of 1 GW.
The projects are being developed by ACWA Power, with financing provided by a range of international development financial institutions such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), DEG, OPEC Fund, Proparco, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The Bash & Dzhankeldy wind projects will consists of 79 EN171-6.5 wind turbines, for a total of 158 turbines that generate 3,235 GWh and displace nearly 2 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent a year. Both the wind farms are instrumental in achieving Uzbekistan's goal of installing 5,000 MW of wind energy by the year 2030.
