The project company for the 309 MW Rentel offshore wind farm, located approximately 40 km from the coast of Ostend in Belgium, has announced that the installation of all 42 turbines is complete. Full commissioning is scheduled for late this year.
The installation process commenced in May 2018, with turbines provided by Siemens. The D7 model has an individual peak capacity of 7.35 MW. The jack-up installation vessel was provided by GeoSea.
The project is owned by the Otary Group, a consortium of Belgian companies established to function as a knowledge center for offshore wind energy. The members are Aspiravi, Deme, Elicio, Green Offshore, Power@Sea, Socofe, SRIW and Z-Kracht. Rentel is the group's most advanced project.
