The developers of the 309 MW Rentel offshore complex in the Belgian North Sea have launched a competitive tender for the power off-take contract for the output of the wind project.
The project consists of 42 Siemens turbines with an individual peak capacity of 7.35 MW which uses direct-drive technology and has been in operation since late 2018. The project is located approximately 40km from Ostend. It is developed by the Otary Group, which is a consortium of eight Belgian companies and comprises DEME Group, Elicio, Aspiravi, Green Offshore, Power@Sea, Socofe, SRIW, and Z-Kracht.
The project delivers renewable energy to approximately 285.000 households.
The wind complex will sign a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with the selected company. The PPA is set to be effective by October 1, 2020, and it will run until end of June 2036.
The deadline for the submission of documents to participate in the tender is on February 24, 2020.
