Aspiravi Group

Company description

The Aspiravi Group is a pioneering Belgian‐owned renewable energy company, established in 2002 and headquartered in Harelbeke, Belgium. With its roots firmly in the local community, the company is unique in having 94 Belgian cities and municipalities as shareholders, along with more than 13,000 citizen‐co-operators, which gives it deep local engagement and broad social support.

Operating across wind (onshore and offshore), solar and battery storage technologies—and including biomass power plants—the group has amassed an installed capacity of nearly 1,775.7 MW and supports the renewable energy supply for roughly 2 million homes per year, while avoiding some 2.47 million tons of CO₂ emissions annually. Aspiravi’s business model covers the full spectrum of renewable energy project development: from site identification, design and construction to long‐term operations and maintenance. It also provides tailored green‐energy solutions to corporate customers—helping companies reduce their carbon footprint, manage energy cost risks and achieve sustainability goals.

Financially, the group is solidly positioned with a diversified mix of municipal shareholders, citizen‐investment vehicles and its own internal project finance. Over a 20‐year period, Aspiravi’s consolidated balance sheet reached over €1 billion, with strong equity foundations and transparent financial management practices. In short, Aspiravi represents a credible and socially rooted player in the renewable energy sector—anchored in Belgium, expanding internationally, and focused on delivering decarbonisation through local participation, expert execution and long‐term asset operation.
