TotalEnergies, together with its partners Sonangol and Greentech - Angola Environment Technology, has been awarded the concession for the construction of the 35 MWp Quilemba solar photovoltaic plant by the Angolan authorities.
In 2020, TotalEnergies has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA) for the construction of the solar plant. The project will have an initial capacity of 35 MWp and will have the potential to add 45 MWp in a second phase.
TotalEnergies holds a 51% interest in the project while Sonangol EP owns 30% and Greentech - Angola Environment Technology with 19% stake. The solar farm is expected to be operational by the end of 2023.
