The Government of Angola has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sun Africa and US-based AfricaGlobal Shaffer to build a US$1.5 billion mini-grid energy project that seeks to electrify all municipal headquarters and main communes in the country.
The project will supply power and water to the population and promote the emergence of economic ventures through the use of conventional solutions, with the extension of lines, and the construction of substations, or using solar energy.
Sun Africa will secure financial resources from Eximbank to start the development of the project. The project is expected to be implemented in two years.
