MCA Group is set to lead a consortium that aims to develop a 370 MWp solar photovoltaic project in Angola.
The MCA Solar Angola project will involve the development of seven photovoltaic solar power plants with about one million solar panels installed.
The MCA Group is the main entity in the consortium that developed the entire MCA Solar Angola project, from the technological to financial component, as well as certification, in accordance with international environmental and social impact standards. The partners come from various geographies (Sweden, the Netherlands, the United States, or South Korea) and have come together for their size, experience, and strategic vision on sustainability.
The project, worth EUR523 million (US$617.4 million), is the largest integrated, public, renewable energy intervention program in sub-Saharan Africa. It was designed with the aim of generating a positive environmental, social, and economic impact in Angola and will mark the future of sustainable energy in that country.
