Sonfor has taken majority ownership of the 165 MW Lillebælt Syd offshore wind farm project in Denmark’s Little Belt Strait and is seeking a new partner to help advance the development, after the withdrawal of TotalEnergies from the venture.

The Lillebælt Syd Wind Farm is planned to produce clean, locally generated power, contributing to Denmark’s net-zero targets while enhancing national energy security. After TotalEnergies withdrew from the project, SONFOR took a majority stake in the company developing the wind farm. European Energy retains a minority interest and will continue to support the project’s development.
