Thailand's Electricity Generating Authority (EGAT) has launched a tender for the development of a floating solar project at the Srinagarind Dam in western Thailand.
According to the tender, the Srinagarind Dam Floating Solar Project 3 will have a capacity between 363.95 MW and 364 MW, utilizing double-glass crystalline silicon solar modules. The successful bidder will be responsible for the design, procurement, manufacturing, supply, delivery, project management, construction, testing, commissioning, and on-site training for the solar facility.
The tender additionally includes the installation of a floating PV system, anchoring and mooring infrastructure, a 33 kV electrical system with transmission lines, and a control and monitoring system. The project will be financed by EGAT and is expected to reach commercial operation by 2028. It forms part of EGAT’s broader plan to implement 16 floating solar projects across its dam reservoirs in Thailand, aiming for a combined capacity exceeding 2.7 GW.
