50% Turbines Installed at 496 MW Offshore Wind Farm in France

Jan de Nul's jack-up installation vessel Vole au vent installed the 31st wind turbine at the French offshore wind farm Dieppe-Le Tréport, marking the halfway point of the installation campaign.

Since kicking off in June, Vole au vent has installed 31 of the 62 turbines that will make up the wind farm, with a total installed capacity of 496 MW. Once operational, the wind farm will generate enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of approximately 850,000 people each year.

Vole au vent can transport four complete wind turbines in a single voyage from the port of Le Havre to the offshore installation site: four pre-assembled tower sections, four nacelles and twelve blades. Since June, the vessel has made nine trips to the wind farm, installing half of the turbines in just a few months.

Connection work is also progressing, with more than half of the inter-wind turbine cables already laid.

The project continues to take decisive steps towards its full commissioning and the production of local renewable energy off the coast of Normandy.
