Suomen Hyötytuuli has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Google for electricity generated by the 90 MW Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm in Finland.

The agreement between Google and the shareholders of Suomen Hyötytuuli was signed in 2024 and forms part of Google’s €13 billion investment programme in Finland, which covers digital infrastructure, clean energy initiatives and economic partnerships aimed at supporting demand for its core services. The agreement is managed by Hyötytuuli Services Oy, while the Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm has been operational since April 2025. Located in Perho and Kyyjärvi in central Finland, the wind farm comprises 14 turbines and is expected to generate approximately 250 GWh of electricity annually.

The parties are also collaborating on the development of ancillary services to enhance operational flexibility at the wind farm while contributing to the stability and reliability of Finland’s electricity grid. According to Aris Karcianis, Google’s Director of Clean Energy and Power for EMEA, the agreement with Suomen Hyötytuuli brings Google’s total contracted renewable energy capacity in Finland to 629MW, underscoring the company’s commitment to supporting the country’s transition towards secure, reliable and decarbonised electricity sources.

Suomen Hyötytuuli has ten onshore wind farms in operation or in test use and one offshore wind farm operating in Tahkoluoto, with overall annual production of 1.9 terawatt-hours.
