Operation started for 180 MW Onshore Wind farms in Finland

Finnish developer Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy has put two new wind farms into production, with a total capacity of over 180 MW.

The two new wind farms include:

  1. 90 MW Oosinselkä on the west coast of Finland: The construction of the Oosinselkä wind farm in Pori and Eurajoki was started in 2022. Its fifteen wind turbines produce 250,000 MWh annually. The wind turbine supplier is Vestas Wind Systems.
  2. The 90 MW Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm, situated in Perho and Kyyjärvi, consists of fourteen wind turbines, which produce an estimated 250 000 MWh annually. Construction started in 2021. The wind turbine supplier is Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy AB.

The main contractor in both projects was Infra Builders Oy, wind farm transformers are supplied by Hitachi Energy Finland and the substations by Eltel Networks Oy. The wind farms generate approx. 185 MW and are expected to produce as much as 500,000 MWh annually. With the completion of the Oosinselkä and Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farms, the wind energy production of Suomen Hyötytuuli is nearly doubled.
