Tenders invited for distribution system upgrade and expansion project in Nepal

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has invited Tenders from eligible Tenderers for the Procurement of material, equipment, associated accessories and necessary installation services including the design, erection, testing, and commissioning of 132/33 kV substation at the premises of Kalanga Hydro Power Station (KHPS) in Bajhang, Lumbini.

This specification covers the construction of a 132/33 kV substation, including the extension of the 132 kV busbar, a 132/33 kV transformer bay, 3 outgoing line bays, a control room, and related facilities. It encompasses the design, engineering, manufacture, testing, transportation, erection, commissioning, and provision of various equipment and systems such as power transformers, circuit breakers, protection systems, substation automation, communication systems, earthing, lighting, and more, along with necessary spares and accessories. Civil Works encompass Power Transformer foundations, gantry and equipment support structures, cable trenches, anti-weed treatment, control building, retaining walls, drainage, water supply, sewage, and fencing for the switchyard.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing funding for the substation's construction, with POWERGRID acting as the project consultant.
