The African Development Bank has sought Expressions of Interest (EOI) from consultants to conduct a feasibility study for a floating solar project at a dam in southern Zambia.
The selected consultant will conduct feasibility studies for the Kariba site, evaluating the project's financial and technical viability, specifying technical requirements for grid integration, and developing financing and business models to implement the floating solar array on Lake Kariba. The Kariba Dam is overseen by the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA), a bilateral organization owned by Zambia and Zimbabwe. The tender documents indicate that the consultant will also examine the socioeconomic aspects of the proposed floating solar PV project to inform ZRA and other local stakeholders in their decision-making process.
The deadline for applications is June 15, 2024. Additional details regarding this tender can be accessed through our Business Opportunity page here.
