EOI invited for 40MW grid-connected wind project in Zambia

Zambia’s Ministry of Energy has invited consulting firms to express interest in the preparation of a 40 MW wind project under its Scaling-up Renewable Energy Programme.

The scope of services within this project encompasses the following:

  • technical assessments for 3 selected sites out of the 8 sites evaluated during the ESMAP resource assessment program.
  • feasibility studies for one promising site to facilitate the development of a 40 MW grid-connected wind power plant.
  • due diligence regarding the establishment of the regulatory framework for wind energy development.
  • a techno-economic report detailing the proposed wind project.

Zambia has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Wind Power Promotion Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for the Appointment of a Firm. The works are to be undertaken over a five-month period from the contract award.

Expressions of Interest must be delivered to the address by September 22, 2023. More information about this tender can be found on our Business Opportunity page here.
