Australian renewables startup Sweetman Renewables Ltd. has entered into a joint-venture agreement with Singaporean company CAC-H₂ to develop a wood-fed hydrogen production center in New South Wales, Australia.
The AUD15 million (US$11.04 million) deal will make CAC-H₂ own up to 80% of stakes in the project while Sweetman Renewable will own the remaining 20% and will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) service for the plant.
The Hunter Valley One project will be constructed on a 30-acre site adjacent to the Sweetman’s Millfield timber mill in the Hunter Valley. The project will use gasification technology that converts woodchip into 99.999% pure hydrogen.
