Australian company Clean Holdings has entered into a joint venture with Singapore-based CAC-H2 to build a hydrogen and ammonia production facility in the agricultural hub of Bundaberg in Queensland.
The developers aim to attract AU$400 million of investment into the project. The facility will use agricultural waste as a feedstock to produce 30,000 metric tonnes of ammonia and hydrogen annually.
As part of the project, the companies are planning to construct a deep-water wharf at the Bundaberg port for the large-scale export of green hydrogen and ammonia to Japan and South Korea.
