Epuron Pty Ltd, an Australian renewables developer, is planning to build the 300 MW St Patricks Plains wind farm project in Tasmania.
Epuron has cut down the proposed number of turbines to 47 instead of 50 which is the revised number of original units of 67. The new proposal is attributed to the reduction of visual impacts and alignment with the community feedback. The new assessment for the project has resulted in newly collated data from eight seasons (two years) of eagle utilization surveys and other studies including flora and fauna, aboriginal and cultural heritage, electromagnetic interference, noise, and visual impact.
Epuron is now preparing to submit its Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the project following the completion of the report. Once Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has accepted the application, Epuron will conduct public consultations with the community.
