Sungrow to provide inverters for Enel's 400 MW PV farm in Atacama desert

China’s Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd has been commissioned by Enel Green Power Chile to supply central inverter solutions for its 400 MW solar photovoltaic project located in Copiapó, in the Atacama desert, Chile.

The facility features the 6.25-MW turnkey solution for 1500-Vdc systems with an efficiency of 99% and a maximum DC / AC ratio of up to 1.5. It has also complied with the Chilean codes for earthquakes.

The project will be the largest photovoltaic plant in Chile. The construction is expected to begin later this year and it will feature Sungrow inverters.
