Chilean company Celulosa Arauco y Constitucion SA (Arauco) is seeking environmental approval for its 215 MW Viento Sur wind project in Biobio, Chile.
The US$250 million project will consist of 43 wind turbines, a substation, and a 220-kV, 60-kilometre transmission line that will send electricity to another substation located within the company’s Horcones pulp mill complex.
Once granted with the environment certificate, the company will proceed to the development of the project.
