Pacific Green Technologies, Inc. announced that Pacific Green Technologies (Australia) Pty Ltd., has entered into an exclusivity agreement to secure a strategically located land site in Limestone Coast, South Australia to develop a 0.5GW / 1.0GWh battery energy park.
Directly connecting to an existing 275 kVA substation, the project aims to significantly augment energy storage capacity in the region, thereby cutting wholesale energy costs and fortifying energy stability for local communities. The Limestone Coast Battery Energy Park is designed to function as a daytime load, enhancing the feasibility of additional solar and wind generation while optimizing energy usage during the evening peak periods. This aligns with South Australia's commitment to a net-zero transition.
Scheduled to commence construction in 2024, the energy park is expected to become operational in 2026.
